Amongst other things, the Templars were said to have worshipped an entity called “Baphomet.” Inquisitors believed this was Satan, but it may have been a garbled version of Abufihamet, Arabic for “Father of Wisdom.” In addition, when the Attic Cipher is applied to “Baphomet,” the word yields “Sophia”.
