Although this symbol is associated exclusively with Judaism in modern
times, it was also used by early Christians. The six-pointed Star of David
is a symbol for the power of the Messiah: the downward-facing
pyramid represents the Messiah’s divine right to rule extending from heaven
to earth, and the upward-facing pyramid represents the Messiah’s temporal
power reaching up to heaven.
